Kopecky Unleash a Double Dose of Videos!

Kopecky

New York - Kopecky, (formerly Kopecky Family Band), the indie rock band out of Nashville, are preparing to release their sophomore record, Drug for the Modern Age. Today, the band has given their fans a double helping of things to treasure, with a new live session video for their lead single “Quarterback,” as well as a lyric video for the song.

Watch the session video below and be sure to share it with others!

Lead singer, Kelsey Kopecky, shares this insight regarding the inspiration-turned-narrative for the new track:

“Having a new album on the horizon gives us fresh wind in our sails to play live. The new songs are fun and grooving. Our first single, ‘Quarterback,’ is just that – a song that tells a tale of the underdog getting the girl with a simple white lie. An anthem of sorts with a ‘love conquers all’ vibe.”

Kopecky’s new record, Drug for the Modern Age, takes the many obstacles the band has endured in recent years and turns to them as the driving force for groove-driven, melody-centric alternative pop that comes across as heavily emotional and surprisingly invigorating.

This tightly knit, six-person group from the south, has had their music synced in a slew of popular television series, including the likes of The Vampire DiariesParenthoodGrey’s Anatomy and MTV’s Awkward, among others. Another of their new tracks, “Real Life,” was also placed in the most recent episode of the hit ABC drama, Nashville. Kopecky’s live shows have taken them all over the world and put them in lineups for an assortment of high profile music festivals, including: Austin City Limits, and Lollapalooza, Bumbershoot and, as of this year, SXSW.

The band’s forthcoming release delves into the kinds of life-altering events so many experience, touching upon topics like the sudden loss of a loved one, divorce, and struggles with addiction, in addition to more positively viewed experiences like new love and marriage.

Vocalist and guitarist, Gabe Simon, who co-founded Kopecky in 2007, shares what the band sought to achieve with the new record:

The album was written in this weird time of so much pain but also happiness, and that really informed the writing and recording. Our goal was to talk about all these very serious things we were dealing with, but in a way that felt nothing like wallowing and more like standing triumphantly, or even dancing our way through it.”

Kopecky are currently out on a U.S. tour, with their first show scheduled for tonight in Pittsburgh. See the complete list of stops below.

Pre-orders for Drug for the Modern Age (out May 19 via ATO Records) are available now through iTunesAmazon and Kopecky’s official store.
