Monks of Mellonwah Preview LP With Single

Monks Of Mellonwah

Berlin – As of right now, referring to the Monks of Mellonwah as stars of the indie alternative music scene will only be acceptable for a few months longer at their rate of exponential growth. For M.O.M. (to their hard-core fans), their next album is on the horizon, with the current single, “Never Been Good,” satiating appetites until the full release.

Since the debut of their first album, Turn to People, this band hailing from Down Under has not only ignited crowds throughout their native land but worldwide, along the way garnering the respect of the industry with accolades: International Rock Band of the Year (LA Music Awards in 2012), and Best Indie Rock Band (AIM Awards in 2012). The band is comprised of childhood friends with a passion for music, with influences that can be heard through their music. Listen to any of their songs and inklings of Pink Floyd, Led Zeppelin, Coldplay and the Red Hot Chili Peppers can be heard. Without a shadow of a doubt, Vikram Kaushik, Joseph de la Hoyde, Joshua Baissari, and John de la Hoyde have been able to take all of these inspirational, seminal bands to create their own signature sound that has connected them to legions of fans the world over.

Stars Are Out, Neurogenesis, Sky & the Dark Night were the first three EPs from Monks of Mellonwah, each one utilizing the talents of some of the most respected producers in the industry. Keith Olsen (Ozzy Osbourne, Fleetwood Mac), and Mark Needham (Imagine Dragons) are just two that have lent their considerable talents to their full-length album, Turn the People, released on Gatcombe Music Pty. Ltd. Naturally, anticipations and expectations have only ramped up a significant notch in lieu of their forthcoming album, and “Never Been Good” doesn’t disappoint. Merging hiphop, soul, and a heavy synth groove, this is a song that showcases M.O.M.’s ability to confidently elicit a sound that is difficult to pigeonhole, but enjoyed nonetheless. Their charismatic stage presence has captivated fans and critics alike, with features in The Huffington Post, Music Connection Magazine, Pop Matters, and a slew of other international publications. With their constant stage shows and tours, they have been featured in heavy rotation on radio stations across the world, including the United Kingdom, Germany, Sweden, Romania, Russia, Hong Kong, Singapore, and South Africa, confirmation of a sound that far exceeds their native Australia.
