Los Angeles – Electronic soul / indie pop artist, MØ and self-described Future Dancehall artist, Major Lazer, have released a new music video for the collaborative single, “Lean On.” The track also comes with a welcome contribution, courtesy of Parisian producer DJ Snake.
The ‘triple-threat-constructed’ music video presents viewers with quite the uncommon spectacle –both in terms of backdrop and the people featured within the footage. The video was filmed on location in Mumbai, India and its main focus is primarily inspired by the culture and warmth experienced by the artists while living among the locals during their stay in city. The finished product is a amazing visual companion to track’s poppy, energetic, dancehall-channeling sonic character.
Among the three collaborators, the Copenhagen based MØ shares these sentiments about how it was to make this song and video come to life:
“Ever since I heard ‘Get Free’ for the first time a few years back I’ve dreamt about collaborating with Major Lazer so I’m super stoked about °Lean On° dropping now. The song is about the fear of outgrowing someone you love. But also how the most important thing in life is to have someone to lean on when you face difficulties and struggle with all the shit that life throws at you.”
For those in the U.S. that are avid fans of MØ, she will be performing at this year’s Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival. Her sets are scheduled for the Sundays of April 12 and April 19.
If Coachella is not on your agenda, take heart that there will also be opportunities to see MØ perform at Sasquatch and The Governors Ball.
Additional dates will be announced soon!
New fans can get a copy of her debut album, No Mythologies To Follow, from iTunes, Google Play and Amazon.
