New York – Today Denmark Native MØ released “Final Song,” which was produced by MNEK (Beyoncé, Zara Larsson). The punk princess turned pop godess will be touring North America this fall. The U.S. dates will start on November 15th in San Diego, California and end on December 6th in Washington, D.C. More dates will be announced soon. Tickets will be available for pre-sale starting May 18th and be made available to the general public on May 20th 9:00 A.M. local time.
MØ – AKA Karen Marie Ørsted – is one of the fastest rising pop stars, winning over critics and steadily gaining fans worldwide. She grew up on Funen – one of Denmark’s largest islands – and wrote her first song when she was a mere seven years old! Ørsted became involved with politics, punk, and the anti-fascism movement in her teens, leading her to form a “noisy, trashy electro-pop punk band” at age 18. But she was restless and began writing new songs on her own, trying out a variety of sounds and styles on her laptop, in her bedroom, and in 2009, she found herself transformed into the pop maven we now know as MØ. In 2014, the singer released her debut album, No Mythologies To Follow – a unique blend of bedroom beats, soul-punk-electro-R&B and pop harmonies – to rave reviews from critics. The record featured singles, “Pilgrim,” “Waste of Time,” “Don’t Wanna Dance,” and “XXX 88 (feat. Diplo).”
The Danish singer is also the co-writer and voice of the worldwide smash Major Lazer track “Lean On” – the most-streamed song ever on Spotify – and is currently putting the finishing touches to her eagerly anticipated sophomore album, due for release later this year. This summer MØ is set to perform at some of the world’s largest music festivals, including Lollapollooza, Firefly Music Festival, and Capitol Hill Block Party.
