New York - Rising Danish vocalist, songwriter, and producer MØ will appear on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon on September 20th, to perform her latest track “Final Song.” The track was co-written by Noonie Bao (Charli XCX, Carly Rae Jepson) and produced by MNEK (Beyoncé, Zara Larsson). MØ previously appeared on The Tonight Show with Major Lazer in 2015 to perform their smash hit “Lean On.”
“Final Song” currently has over 140 million streams on Spotify worldwide and is in the Top 25 on the Global Spotify chart and Top 35 on the U.S. Spotify Chart. The track is certified platinum in Denmark and Australia, and Gold in Sweden and Silver in the UK. The official music video has over 30 million views on YouTube.
As part of her world tour, MØ will play select North American dates this fall, with stops including The Novo in Los Angeles on November 18th and Terminal 5 in New York on December 3rd. The full list of U.S. tour dates can be found below.
Hailing from Funen, Denmark, MØ is Karen Marie Ørsted. In 2014, she released her debut album, No Mythologies To Follow to great critical success. Pitchfork described MØ’s voice as “a powerful and versatile tool comfortable expressing emotional turmoil as it is wearing a fuck-the-haters scowl,” while Consequence of Sound said the album is “a polished pop package that boasts bite as well as her refreshingly charming magnetism.”
In 2015, MØ teamed up with Major Lazer to co-write and sing “Lean On,” which is the most streamed song of all time on Spotify, peaked at #1 on Top 40 radio in the U.S. and has over 1 billion views on the official music video. She is also currently featured on Major Lazer’s hit song, “Cold Water,” with Justin Bieber. MØ’s highly anticipated second album is due for release early next year.
