Iceland’s Of Monsters And Men are back with an ambitious fury, releasing a new song, announcing the date for their sophomore release and revealing a list of stops for an extensive spring tour, with plenty of stops in North America! (Including their previously reported participation in the Sasquatch Music Festival.)
June 9, 2015 is the day to remember for the quintet’s second full-length record, Beneath The Skin. After several years since the release of the multi-platinum My Head Is An Animal (2011), Of Monsters And Men have resurfaced with a exciting lead single, “Crystals,” which received a special debut through iHeartRadio, followed by an accompanying lyric video released through VEVO. “Crystals” is an energized and graceful anthem that displays the growth that Of Monsters And Men’s signature sound has undergone but retains that character on which fans first got hooked. Not wanting to keep fans waiting, pre-orders are already available for Beneath the Skin, via participating digital outlets and every pre-order gives access to a download of “Crystals.” Fans can expect 11 tracks on the sophomore album’s standard edition and 15 tracks from the deluxe edition. Bonus tracks, “Backyard” and “Winter Sound,” along with a remix of the track “Black Water” by Chris Taylor of Grizzly Bear and a remix of “I Of The Storm” by Jonsi (Sigur Ros) collaborator, Alex Somers. The band take things even further for those that pre-order directly from the Of Monsters And Men official site. Those pre-orders have early pre-sale access to tickets for the forthcoming headline tour!
The indie folk group teamed up with Rich Costey (Death Cab for Cutie, Muse, Interpol, Foster The People) for co-production support between recording studios in Los Angeles and Iceland.
Of Monsters And Men plan to build up anticipation for Beneath the Skin through this tour that will begin on May 4 at Massey Hall in Toronto. The band will play North American major markets before traveling back overseas for European show dates. See the full list below.
