Yesterday was a complete whirlwind and a half.  Between hanging out backstage at Sony Bloggie with Alex Ebert from Edwarpe Sharpe (who rocked it so hard I cannot wait to see them again at Sunset Junction!) to meeting Perry Farrell from Jane’s Addiction, to dancing enough during Kaskade’s set to be a self-proclaimed cardio queen, it was one of the best festival’s yet- and I still have one more day to go!

Perry Farrell was nice enough to yell over the chaos with me and chat for a sec about his studio plans, The Strokes versus Lady Gaga, and where he grabs his one-of-a-kind jewelry!

BNB:  Okay I’m backstage at Lollapalooza with Perry Farrell from Jane’s Addiction!

PF:  Alice In Chains!

BNB:  I’ve got to say your necklace is SICK!  Where’d you grab that?

PF:  The Snake?!  I got it from a fellow by the name of Lazaro who makes only one-of-a-kind pieces in New York City.

 

BNB:  Awesome!  You based in New York now or in L.A.?

PF:  In L.A.- I was born in New York though.

 

BNB:  So who are you most amped to see at Lollapalooza?

PF:  Well, coming up is Empire of the Sun at this stage (Perry’s) and they’ve never been in America!  I’m excited because they’re like really amazing house or like, new disco- and it’s a SHOW, I really love the spectacle.

 

BNB:  So I have to ask- the two headliners last night, The Strokes & Lady Gaga- who’s side were you on?

PF:  Oh god- I LOVE them both, I could NEVER choose!  Who were you for?

BNB:  I gotta say The Strokes, I’m a little bit of a rock & roll kind of girl!

PF- Yeah, oh ME TOO!

 

BNB:  Rumor has it you’ll be doing an after party with Jane’s Addicition- any truth to that?

PF:  I wish, I wasn’t able to pull that off!

 

BNB:  What would you do for a Klondike bar?  Standard question of course.

PF:  Depends on who was holding it- if it was my wife, I’d go down on her!

 

BNB:  That’s funny!  Is she travelling with you?

PF:  Oh yeah, we always travel together!

 

BNB:  So is this one one of your favorite festivals or is there something else you prefer?

PF:  I LOVE Coachella!

 

BNB:  Any upcoming shows in L.A.?

PF:  You know, we’ve got nothing planned, but we’re trying to do once or twice a month playing some small club and just letting it rip- so something will come up!

 

BNB:  Sunset Junction & Sunset Strip Music Fest are both coming up- you planning on going to any of those strictly for recreational purposes?

PF:  You know I hadn’t planned on any of that, when I get back I was just going to hit the studio- so I don’t really have my head into the “fun stuff” right now.

BNB:  Good to hear you’ll be back in the studio, and hey, at least your work is play!

PF:  Oh yeah!  I mean, we play music!
