Walking in to the Whiskey last night I knew I was in for a great show- a show I’d been waiting for for several months in fact. Kopek had been in the states promoting their latest release White Collar Lies and they had finally made it to the infamous Whiskey A Go Go in my state- and were beyond ready to rock.
Their grunge infused rock is chalk full of angst and heavy guitar which makes for the perfect soundtrack to any day worthy of a little venting session. (Think a 90s style grunge-soaked “Mercedes Marxist” by the Living Things.)
With the Whiskey packed with hard rock seeking patrons (what else is new) the Irish boys had a tough crowd to please- but they managed to do it without much effort by playing tracks off White Collar Lies that have been on heavy rotation for me for several months now! I mean, I ditched the law school route- any kind of cover art that combines a tie and a noose gets my immediate attention!
So after a successful rock out session care of Irish spawned Kopek myself, and the rest of that night’s Whiskey inhabitants are officially anxiously counting down until their return to the city of angels.
Until that day comes (not fast enough) they’ll be touring through May, and you can check HERE to find out where and when you can catch the Kopek boys next!
