Los Angeles – Besides having an amazing writer (Tony Hardy) on the ground at Glastonbury, we were lucky enough to have access to the work of two truly wonderful concert photographers, Nathan Dainty (Very Creative) and Maja Smiejkowska. (Top photo: Chemical Brothers by Maja Smiejkowska).
Here is some of their work:
Alabama Shakes by Nathan Dainty
We first reviewed Alabama Shakes in when they tore up The Brooklyn Bowl in 2011. Since then we’ve reviewed them at Bonnaroo, Outside Lands and now Glastonbury.
______
James Bay by Nathan Dainty
We’re establishing an annual tradition with James Bay. We first reviewed him in Los Angeles at The Troubadour in 2013 and then again in Los Angeles at The Hotel Cafe in 2014. This year we caught him at Glastonbury. See you next year James (if not before).
______
Ben Howard by Maja Smiejkowska
Ben Howard is another old friend. We first reviewed Ben when he sold out The Troubadour in 2012. We saw him later that year at Bonnaroo and again at Webster Hall in New York, at the El Rey in Los Angeles, earlier this year at the Riviera in Chicago and, of course, at Glastonbury.
______
Jungle by Maja Smiejkowska
We first caught Jungle and their “all-out disco funk soul pop jam” at The Knitting Factory in New York last year. It was great to see them at Glastonbury.
______
Lianne La Havas by Nathan Dainty
Lianne La Havas was our Artist of the Week in November 2012. We first saw her at SXSW in 2013 and now again at Glastonbury.
______
The Who by Nathan Dainty
This is the first time we’ve covered these guys. They must be new to the festival circuit. We think they could be really big some day.
