Atmosphere is kicking off what will be an undoubtedly awesome Cinco de Mayo as they take their Family Tour to the Fox Theater in Pomona, California, and Blueprint, Grieves with Budo, Sab the Artist, and DJ Abilities will be along for the ride. This concert is promoting their new album, The Family Sign, which dropped earlier this year.
Here’s how Goldenvoice describes the new album:
“The Family Sign comes from a place well refined and firmly planted, from a universal perspective. It’s about being okay with losing friends and strengthening your bonds with others, celebrating the person who’s been the most positive in your life, your kids, your homies, leaving the people you need to behind, and bringing the ones you love with you. It’s about your family, your time and the time you have with them. It’s about living and dying. It’s the truth about family, that it comes from loyalty as much as biology. It’s about breaking down your perceptions of family and really appreciating the people who’ve made you who you are and continue doing so.” (Read the rest here.)
This Minneapolis underground rap/hip-hop group, made up of main members Ant and Slug, has been putting out the freshest of beats and lyrics (if I may say so myself) for almost 20 years now. From their first release in ’97, Overcast!, to this newest release, these guys have stayed on the map thanks to hard, honest work and raw, carefully crafted music.
