Trixie Whitley has premiered her new video. The video is for the deep and soulful stunner, “Breathe You In My Dreams,” one of the centerpieces from her debut, Fourth Corner (Strong Blood). Matthu Placek, who also directed the gorgeous video for “A Thousand Thieves”, directed the clip.
“The way Matthew expressed the concept in reaction to the song made complete sense. At the time of writing the song, I felt so much urgency and longing towards a lover who I couldn’t physically be with due to geographic reasons. It was a sense of feeling his presence so intensely in my entire system while feeling completely detached at the same time.”
Whitley is also excited to announce that she is scheduled to perform on KCRW’s Morning Becomes Eclectic TODAY. If you’re not in LA, you can hear the show online HERE. The show is on air from12 noon Eastern (9am Pacific) - 3pm (12 noon Pacific).
Whitley has been touring all year in support of her debut record, Fourth Corner. She and her band will be performing in San Diego, Los Angeles and San Francisco this week. In a few weeks she’ll be performing at Bonnaroo.
Fourth Corner was recorded in New York with producer/keyboardist Thomas Bartlett (AKA Doveman who has also worked with Glen Hansard, The National, Grizzly Bear, and Antony and the Johnsons), Engineer Pat Dillett (David Byrne, St. Vincent, Mary J. Blige), with string arrangements by Rob Moose (Antony, Bon Iver). Since the record’s release, it has received praise from the likes of The Village Voice describing it as “musical film-noir” and her distinct voice praised by The New York Timesand American Songwriter. Trixie has hit the top 10 on public radio with extensive play and appearances on NPR’s Weekend Edition, WYNC Soundcheck, The World Cafe, and an upcoming visit toKCRW’s Morning Becomes Eclectic today.
