This Sunday I went to see my good friend, Christa Knudsen, play at an Irish Pub in Long Beach with her new band, The Adjustments.

The set was great. Simple, straightforward music that provided a solid foundation for the poetry Christa has been writing longer than I’ve known her (since her freshman year of high school), played by people who were obviously happy to be doing something they enjoy.

Christa’s songs lay out her Truth– the ups and downs in her life and her past. The subject matter is sometimes heavy, but the delivery was light and playful throughout. In addition to being a talented singer/songwriter, Christa is a beautiful woman. Her on-stage energy is vibrant and joyful. She is strong– a woman who has arrived.

The Adjustments are rounded out by John Ellis on drums and Steve McNeil on bass, and this is definitely a band worth seeing.
