This weekend, one of my favorite artists, Robyn, is going to to grace the legendary stage of New York’s Radio City Music Hall, and you guessed it, I will be watching and dancing every step of the way. You can read my review of her last performance in New York, at Terminal 5, HERE. But for those of you who still don’t know her music or are reluctant to jump on the bandwagon, this one is for you…
Because after Saturday night, the Swedish “dancehall queen” will be the toast of the town.
Continuing to tour in support of her trifecta of electro/dance magic, the Body Talk series (Part 1, 2 and 3 were released separately in 2010) and hot off of the announcement she will be supporting one of the largest pop acts in the world on tour, Katy Perry, one would think that Robyn could rest now. But she also will be playing dates all over Europe, return to the U.S., and then do it all over again.
Without further ado, here are the rest of the U.S. tour dates for the “most killingest pop star on the planet.” She is supported by Natalia Kills and Diamond Rings.
Feb 7 Cleveland House of Blues – Cleveland
Feb 8 Columbus The LC Pavilion
Feb 9 Detroit Royal Oak Music Theatre
Feb 11 Chicago Riviera Theatre
Feb 12 Milwaukee The Rave / Eagles Ballroom
Feb 13 Minneapolis First Avenue
Feb 15 Urbana, IL Canopy
Feb 17 Austin The Moody Theater
Feb 18 Dallas South Side Music Hall
Feb 19 Houston Warehouse Live
In March, she will begin the European leg of her solo dates, including some hometown shows in Sweden. Robyn will return to the U.S. in June as Katy Perry’s opener for her arena tour. Perry is supporting 2010′s hit Teenage Dream. Robyn will miss a few of the Canadian dates in July due to her commitments to a few Germany music festivals. So if you’re hoping to see Katy and Robyn and your a Canadian, be sure to check Katy or Robyn’s websites.
As Robyn’s popularity continues to expand beyond nightclubs, trendy hair salons and DJ’s iPods around the world, she has announced that more new music is headed our way in 2011. She’s clearly a workaholic, and that doesn’t bother me one bit.
