Los Angeles – Shakey Graves, the name musician Alejandro Rose-Garcia performs under, took home the Emerging Artist Of The Year award at Americana Music Association’s 14th Annual Honors & Awards,. Shakey Graves also performed his song “Dearly Departed” at the ceremony.
Almost a year since the release of the album, the awards ceremony marked another high point in a year of highs from sold out shows across the country, to performances on Conan, Late Show With David Letterman, and Late Night with Seth Meyers (and upcoming performance on Austin City Limits Live), to a top five track at radio’s AAA format with “Dearly Departed,” to being named iTunes best of 2014 Singer Songwriter, and was included on NPR’s Ann Powers’ top 20 albums of 2014; in addition to gaining over 20 million streams on Spotify it’s been a tremendous year.
