Meg Myers, a fast-rising musician originally out of Tennessee, (last reported on by Best New Bands senior editor Sarah Hess as having put on a great show at 2014′s Lollapalooza,) is about to depart on a headlining tour that will begin at the end of the month and take her all the way into June and the starting days of summer. The songwriting southerner-turned-LA musician is pairing this announcement with a second big step in her budding career: the release of the first (and titular) single off her debut, full length album, Sorry, due out in the summer as well, via Atlantic Records.
Myers, whose down-to-earth, alternative rock style, vocals led to a notable level of positive reception for her sophomore EP, Make a Shadow (2014), has kept herself fresh on the minds of music lovers across the country, even while still assembling her debut record. The leading single from that last project, “Desire,” became a Top 20 favorite with alternative radio platforms all throughout the country, while the song’s accompanying video has managed to earn more than 2 million views – and still increasing – through Myers’s official YouTube channel.
Having developed public repute as an an artist that puts on an energetic and memorable live show, Myers spent an abundance of time out on the road touring, headlining clubs, supporting artists that have included Broods, Royal Blood and even the famed Pixies –not to mention easily capturing the audiences’s attention an assortment of popular festivals. Amidst all of this growing front line popularity with fans, Myers has also been getting a leg up in the larger world of media, with a recent appearance on NBC’s “Last Call with Carson Daly,” which marked Myers’s first appearance on national television.
New fans can get a copy Myers’s newest EP, Make a Shadow, from iTunes, Google Play and Amazon, now. Full information regarding the tour is below.
