It’s officially Day Two here at Sonisphere and following yesterday’s Big 4 lineup (Metallica, Megadeth, Anthrax, Slayer) the fest is upping the ante with a little Mars Volta, Kids In Glass Houses, Architects, You Me At Six, and one of my fave UK spawned groups, Pulled Apart By Horses.
Now I’ll admit my job is pretty glamorous. I stay in the most exotic housing, this time a tent in a mud mobbed field. I have the finest of amenities, such as babywipes. All this and I even have a vast array of appetizing options- like fried food. All these semi sacrifices made in hot pursuit of good music. Live from the front lines here, what I’ve really gotten into at this fest (aside from mud) is the rocktastic genre options. Sonisphere is really running the gammet between the big (and fab) four to more pop-ish groups like Weezer and Sum 41 (both playing a little later today!)
Lucky for me I get to see several of my fave bands today with more to come tomorrow and in case you’re not lucky enough to be here in Knebworth you can live vicariously through me and follow my rocking adventures @LaurenNovik. Just a little tasty treat from the mud soaked fields of Knebworth, care of an American girl in London! Need a heftier rock fix? Check back at bestnewbands.com this coming week for interviews, artist updates and post-fest highlights to keep you satisfied until next year’s metal fest returns!
