Big B is responsible for the pre-summer song sensation “Sinner,” and he’s taken radio waves by storm ever since. His new CD Good Times & Bad Advice is chalk-full of kick-ass collaborations, namely Scott Russo and Everlast among others- and the vibe is just right for a little background barbeque music of sorts.
Ready to take the stage at Sunset Strip Music Festival we got to know a little more about what’s behind the music:
BNB: Hey I’m standing here with Big B, I’m Lauren from bestnewbands.com- you getting stoked for your performance today?
BB: Yeah absolutely!
BNB: What would you say your main musical influences are?
BB: Oh man- anything really. I just like old school punk rock and country, hip hop- so Johnny Cash, Social Distortion.
BNB: You’ve toured with several different artists- what’s been your favorite so far?
BB: You know, I love going to Australia! So, probably my Australian tours.
BNB: Has being on heavy rotation on the radio changed things at all?
BB: Well not me per say, but it’s changed the situation.
BNB: I can imagine- for the better!
BB: Yeah, absolutely!
BNB: Who’s been your favorite artist to collaborate with thus far?
BB: Everlast right now- and Scott Russo also- but Everlast was just such a big influence, so it’s good to work with him.
BNB: Great and he’s actually on a few of your tracks!
BB: Yeah, definitely!
BNB: Who are you amped to see today?
BB: I can’t wait to check out Common, Kid Rock’s supposed to play with Slash and every time he plays he’s really good- so that.
BNB: Any up and coming artists you’re keeping an eye on?
BB: You know- I don’t really know.
BNB: Your CD Good Times & Bad Advice is about to drop- you ready to hop back in the recording studio yet or you planning on taking 5?
BB: Yeah I’m recording now- I’m always recording, trying to put something together- everyday I’m either writing something or recording something so I’ll be back. That’s how I do it- I write them all year long.
BNB: And you write all of your own lyrics?
BB: Oh yeah all of them. It’s a good deal for me just to keep busy.
BNB: Great well we can’t wait to check you out! Closing Remarks?
BB: You know- there’s no real remarks, just come check us out- feedbigb.com- I’m here today and that’s about it!
The “Sinner” song-sation has dominated stages and airwaves- but I suggest checking out “Before I Leave This Place” featuring Everlast (www.myspace.com/hooliganbigb) a track I’ve currently substituted “Sinner” for as of now!
He may have just blown up fairly recently, but Big B is not hear today gone tomorrow status- with Everlasting talent and a thirst for pushing the envelope with new collaborations- he’s definitely going to be around for a while! You can follow more of Big B’s beats at www.feedbigb.com! Catch him on tour now- next stop, Tulsa on August 31!
