WOLF PARADE SHINES A LIGHT ON WHY NO ONE CAN RESIST THEIR HOWL

Last night, Wolf Parade ended their North American tour by rocking at the famed Wiltern. Drowning in a sea of plaid button-downs, the Canadian based group hailing from Montreal had indie music lovers flocking to the stage like moths to an undeniably enchanting light, and the upbeat set had the entirety of the historic theater unable to hold still.

The musically fearsome foursome made up of Dan Boeckner, Dante DeCaro, Spencer Krug, and Arlen Thompson executed the entire set with undeniable onstage chemistry, playing off each other with ease and grace anticipated of rock veterans in possession of much more experience.

Starting the set with their single “what did my lover say,” the entire night was off to a roaring start, with people jumping and dancing in such frantic fervor it had the barely strong enough floor beneath our feet competing for the top spot on the Los Angeles seismology chart.

The pack of boys had fans flocking from all directions of the auditorium to join in the mass chaos of the concert, and the old, the young, and the restless did not hesitate to join in wolf’s parade of singsong cheer and naïve excitement.  I can say for certain that though I get pretty amped on every show I see live based solely on the crowd contact high alone- this particular audience had no child left behind, uniting everyone in their sheer enthusiasm the boys from the great white north erected in the young, and simply young at heart.

The quartet will be hopping across the pond to serenade Europe with plenty of tracks and tunes off their new CD “Expo 86” in early September- you can cyber stalk their itinerary at www.myspace.com/wolfparade.  Rest assured the boys from North of our border will have you on your feet and in their pack faster than Lindsay Lohan went from jail to rehab.
