Seattleites Atomic Bride are known for their interesting blend of hazy psychedelia and crunching garage rock, and their latest offering,Electric Order, may be the band’s best collection yet. Though the upcoming EP only consists of four songs, they hold their own and whet the appetite for a new full-length. The self-released album is slated to drop on September 14, and today we are excited to premiere its first single, “We Got Muscle.”
Led by vocalist Astra Elane and guitarist/vocalist Chris Cool, Atomic Bride seamlessly fills the void between pop and rock, psychedelia and grunge, and “We Got Muscle,” is the perfect example of this skill. Crunching guitars, galloping percussion and ominous key riffs set the scene for Elane and Cool’s call-and-response vocal structure. It’s dark but its catchy, lending itself to the genre “Industrial Bubblegum.”
For those of you who live in Seattle, make sure to catch Atomic Bride’s record release show at Comet Tavern on September 14. An electric-charged dance party will surely ensue.
