Berlin – In a continuing partnership with the label TRAPEZ, Italian producer and DJ, Taster Peter has produced another electronica EP that will have the dance floors throughout Europe soaking in this sonic revelry. With a June 1st release date and remix assists from producers Peter and Padre, Pelikans is an offering that is the perfect release for summer.
Pelikans is the latest in a long list of musically diverse projects from Taster Peter that stretches back to his past as a drummer for the hardcore band Tasters. With two album releases, where his skills as an instrumentalist were showcased, the band was just the beginning of Taster Peter’s career. Their musical output led to production work and soon Taster Peter was requested as a producer for artists like Marco Bailey, Florian Meindl, Oliver Koletzki, and many more, effectively thrusting his name and sound squarely on the world stage of techno music.
In the world of electronica, Taster Peter has not only made a name for himself on the stage, but behind the scenes as well. Currently, he releases his records on several labels: Tronic, Octopus, Phobiq, Highgrade, and Harthouse to name a few. In addition to these labels, Taster Peter is the owner of his own label, Extravaganza, which produces musical events worldwide and has its own roster of artists, including Tim Green, Luna City Express, Glimpse, Inxec, Sven Tasnadi, SIS, and many more.
A consummate artist, Taster Peter continues in this tradition with his latest release Pelikans. The EP wastes no time waxing electronic, with the title track diverging between the psychedelic and the hypnotic, creating a sonic tension that delivers. The next track, ‘Running Disorder’, keeps the momentum going while adding in a dash of Detroit techno, for a softer sound that still packs a sonic punch. Taster Peter has always been daring on the experimental front as demonstrated by the track ‘Danza Inquieta’. It’s sure to surprise even his most hardcore fans with it’s wall of sound. The remix of ‘Pelikans’ on this EP come courtesy of French team We Need Cracks, who takes the track and layers it with just enough panache to almost make it their own. ‘Danza Inquieta’ receives two separate remix efforts here, by way of Peet and also by Padre. Each one tackling the original and texturing it with their own musical influences.
