New York – Best New Bands is excited to offer its readers a registration discount (see below) for the 2014 CMJ Music Marathon. Taking place in New York City (primarily downtown and in Brooklyn) on October 21-25, this year’s event boasts a great lineup including numerous buzzworthy new acts as well as panels that feature some of the most influential figures in the music industry.

Among this year’s more than 1,000 diverse, indie bands and performers are Australian folk-rocker Courtney Barnett (a year after making her U.S. debut at CMJ 2013), the U.K.’s Bombay Bicycle Club, Cold War Kids, garage rockers Twin Peaks, White Fence, The Kills, avant-garde outfit San Fermin, punk-fuzz Potty Mouth, and British shoegaze band Slowdive.

The daytime conference is headquartered at NYU’s Greenwich Village campus and features more than 80 panel topics such as a conversation with performer Nika Roza Danilova (aka Zola Jesus), who’s next LP, Taiga, will be released on October 7; and a celebration of the 25th anniversary of influential North Carolina-based indie label, Merge Records with its founders.

To receive your discount, go to the Registration page and paste code CMJ14BNB into the Access Code box.

“We’re thrilled to be partnering with CMJ Music Marathon again this year and offering our readers this registration discount,” said Greg Brodsky, BestNewBands.com’s Chief Marketing Officer.  “It’s always an outstanding event and we look forward to sharing our writers’ reviews and interviews next month.”
