This weekend’s DeLuna Fest on the panhandle of Florida is quietly emerging as one of the best late summer festivals of the season. Taking place on Pensacola Beach, DeLuna is attracting some of the biggest and best new bands to the area, making it a must-see event in the Southeast. While bands like Pearl Jam, Foo Fighters, Zac Brown Band, Jimmy Cliff and Ben Folds Five will be attracting the most attention, here are some of our favorite new bands that will be playing the festival, and you’ll some familiar names on this list.
Fitz and The Tantrums: With an album scheduled to be released early next year, the pop-soul rockers know how to have fun on-stage. They’ll be playing on Sunday at 6 p.m.
The Joy Formidable: The Brits brand of indie pop has won them fans across the globe and their 7:15 p.m. set on Saturday is great slot for as they’ll be playing at dusk, which make for a great vibe.
Trampled By Turtles: They were awesome at Outside Lands, so why would anything change here? Their brand of indie folk meets bluegrass will sound great on the beach, especially at 7:30 on Friday night.
Band of Skulls: The British alt/garage rockers know how to play festivals and they will undoubtably be some of the first sounds that people here when they enter the venue at 5:30 on Friday
Florence and The Machine: If you don’t know the South London native, then we suggested you watch the above video
Three Day passes and Single Day tickets are available on the festival’s website
