If you’re in Los Angeles this week, don’t miss Jeff Hershey & The Heartbeats at The Troubadour tonight! Fans of Fitz and the Tantrums and Raphael Saadiq will love the Motown-inspired sound of this SoCal quintet, and analog lovers will fall in love with their recent album Soul Music Vol. 1 (now available on iTunes). Be sure to check out the amazing video below featuring mastermind Jeff Hershey himself telling the backstory about the band and their style. I spoke to him via email this week (pictured second from left above, below), and he had this to say about the performance:
“We’re very excited to be performing at the lengendary Troubadour! We’ve waited a long time to bring our energy and excitement to the Los Angeles area. This is one of those moments where I feel proud to be in the hardest working band I know. It’s gonna be an explosion from the stage! Can’t wait!”

Jeff Hershey & The Heartbeats will be playing in support of headliners The New Mastersounds from the UK. If you can’t make it to the show tonight, you can catch Jeff Hershey & The Heartbeats at various dates around Southern California this summer. Their next show is July 7th at Belly Up Tavern, then July 8th at Moe’s Alley in Santa Cruz. Their album Soul Music Vol. 1 is now available on iTunes, and for more information on their upcoming tour dates please visit their website or follow them on Facebook.
