Tis the season for great music and the holiday showcases are in full swing.   Case in point, Pruple Melon’s Christmas party and showcase at Crazy Girls on Thursday, December 16 at 10.  The four hot little British imports ( who serenaded me pool side a while back) are ready to rock Los Angeles once again with their sweet vintage vibe- and if you recall, amazing hair.

I’ve interviewed several UK based bands since my original meeting with the foursome and there really is no other place for Purple Melon- they belong in Los Angeles, and this holiday season your Christmas wishlist should consist of whatever you want- as long as PM is somewhere on it.

What caught me immediately from the boys’ vintage vibe and Beatles-esque style tunes was their ability to not “mock” or “imitate” the sounds and songs of yesteryear- but their innovation with the tunes- they truly feel the music they’re singing, from ghosts of decades past, and reinventing them.
