Sunset Junction Don’t Miss List!

Since most people in Los Angeles are addicted to music- us track addicts are over recovering from Lollapalooza insanity, and on to sorting out our next festival that promises a little music mayhem!  Enter Sunset Junction- a little music fest that will take place Saturday, August 21 & Sunday, August 22, twenty-ten!

To make things easy for those whose research skills are slightly sub par, here’s my don’t miss list:

Saint Motel- This is DEFINITELY a group to watch out for.  These boys have been touring non stop, recently performing at SXSW, opening for Band of Skulls, and just having their “Dear Dictator” song remixed by none other than the uber-talented Sam Sparro!  Definitely check them out- what a great way to kick off the first day of S.J.!

Shiny Toy Guns- If you haven’t checked them out by now A) get with the program, and B) where some comfy foot gear- there’s no way you’ll be able to hold still!

Eastern Conference Champions- Unwind a teeny bit after the Shiny Toy Guns set with this totally talented trio.  They’re definitely worth taking a little time to see!

Dawes- End your day with in retro-chic style with this group.  No way I’d miss them, their sound is so alluring and effortlessly enchanting, it’s a more than great way to end the first day!

Edward Sharpe & The Magnetic Zeros- Now, I saw them at Lollapalooza- and mind-blowing awesomeness doesn’t even begin to describe the amazing performance I witnessed.  Not even headlining, the Sony Bloggie stage area was completely overflowing with kids craving the soothing upbeat tunes that can’t help but make you smile.  Their single “home” had everyone, and their mother’s, up on their feet in a Woodstock-style  celebration of life and love- and everything in between!

Fitz & The Tantrums- Soothing, chill, tunes to rock out to on a summer day- and the Silverlake street-fest is a great setting for that type of easygoing soiree!

The Deadly Syndrome- continues the chill vibe with their music!

The Crystal Antlers- pumps the party up again with their vintage vibe music interspersed with happy thoughts and a little Sunday funday theme!

Sam Sparro- End your day with a little cardio via non-stop dance party!  If you haven’t caught on to his musically innovative tunes just yet- now’s your chance to check them out!  He recently worked with Saint Motel (made my don’t miss list for Saturday!) so can we expect a little surprise onstage collaborative performance?  You never know what’s coming at L.A.’s Sunset Junction!

You can check out the entire lineup of talented bands at!

Hope to see you all there for a little fun in the sun!  S.J. twenty-ten, where beachky-keen kids, hipsters, scenesters and everyone in between goes for great tunes, food, and fun!  Plus, if all the cool kids are doing it…
