Who’d think that a museum full of fossils four billion years old would host artists fresh from the underground? Yet Los Angeles’ Natural History Museum’s “First Fridays” series continues to juxtapose the two, making good on its claim of being an “authority on the ‘big picture’ of the planet, the natural, and the cultural world.”

This Friday, they present a powerhouse lineup of the Miguel Atwood-Ferguson Ensemble, Gaslamp Killer, and Anna Wise of Sonnymoon, plus a special DJ set by the impresario of the venerable label Stones Throw, Peanut Butter Wolf. Doors open at 5:30 PM, and though concert tickets ($15) are sold out online, a limited number of tickets will be sold onsite the day of the event.
